What is a good cell phone for a person who never had one?

Im trying to get one for my mom she isn't savvy with technology what so ever. SHe wants to dabble in to a cell phone plan. She needs something easy. I have the iphone and that is just too much for her right now, is there anything that ATT has that is easy to use larger fonts?
