What would I need to do to become an investigative journalist?

So I'm in college right now and i'm not happy with my major. I really want to travel the world and write about current events that are unfolding. I also dabble in photography and I'd love to use photography to help get my message across. I' just wondering what I should change my major to and where I should start looking to become employed in this type of field.
