Broken Hinge on DS Lite question?

I was just wondering because my ds had a crack where the hinge was and I didn't mess with it so it wouldn't get bigger, but just wondering am I able to use a hot glue gun to glue it back if so what would be the outcome? Also tell if I do use it will it break or glue the crack together please help me!
