Is there any way my laptop can be repaired?

So about two years ago, someone got angry at me and took my laptop and threw it at a linoleum floor. The only thing that really came from it though was scratches. Then, gradually, my laptop's hinges started acting weird. It would resist being opened and would make cracking noises every time I tried, but then one day one of the hinges just broke, and then after awhile the other one broke and now my laptop needs to be held up by something in order for the screen to stay up. The whole border thing that surrounds the screen is coming off, and you can see what is behind it. Also, my laptop can't stay by itself without a fan for about 10 minutes, because then it'll over heat and turn off. So, my question is, is there any way I can get the screen to my laptop fixed, and is there a way to take care of the overheating thing?
