Need Nintendo DS Lite Help?

I have a Nintendo DS lite and the right hinge is broken and the L and R buttons are basically broken. I'm thinking of selling this one and getting a Nintendo 3DS or a Nintendo DSi XL if I cant get the Nintendo 3DS. Do you think thats a good idea because I'm not repairing a DS for $100?
